Year of the Peacock

OHMYGOD longest time for me to draw a lineart. EVER.

the freakn' lineart took me more than 13 hours to finish and I'll tell you why. THOSE STUPID FEATHERS! I hate feathers now. it should NOT have taken so long. another reason would be the shoes. the character is originally a peacock with metal TALONS. how many times do I have to caps lock, I don't know. I don't need to tell you how hard it was to find a shoe design that would fit the structure of a bird foot without it looking too gaudy... I finally settled for something that was meant for a finger and it's also ON his finger. *mummblegrumbble*

now to introduce the person I based this off of. Lord Shen, the new villain in Kung fu Panda 2, he's an albino peacock. the first thing that came to my head when I first saw him was he's beautiful~~ and that's all it took for me to want to draw him in human form. now I know what you're thinking- Kung fu Panda is a children's movie- well up yours that movie got me right there, in the heart man you can't say anything that will change my mind and I love this character he's so pretty, he fits the prince role perfectly. go see the movie.
[edit] and don't say anything about the feet! I know I gave up on them! you try working 2 days straight on the same stupid picture and work up the motivation to work on your worst subject! leave me alone!
